I’ve been beating around the bush about the inspiration for this guy’s name for some time. In fact, I’ve been slow about bringing him on as the lowlife, freeloading, zombie he really is. And he wont’ be doing anything about it–the gags it offers are too rich!

Rob, Am I slow or just not informed? I don’t get the info about “jones” as the source of his name! He looks lazy on his bike.
Mom
I guess this would fall under the “uninformed” category, Mom, but you raise a good point. I had actually intended to litter the area around his bike with beer cans and other assorted evidence of his debauch, but it wasn’t in the ink and got forgotten about in the coloring stage.
For more on the meaning of the slang term “jones”, as a verb or noun, see the Slang Dictionanry.
He ain’t lazy, he’s suffering the consequences of what he though was the fun of the night before, which he won’t remember outside the dull throb resonating in his skull in the morning.
maybe he drank all the beer to drown out the noise of the generator running and lights glaring from that RV? I’m sure he ran out of things to talk about, what does a biker talk about with RVers any way?
See you on the road…
You raise some outstanding points, Coffindodger. Especially about the generator and lights. Sounds like you speak from experience! These particular RVers are trailering their bikes, but if you value your ride, you ride rather than trailer unless you have a business to bring to an event.
Ride hard, Ride Safe. Ride.
I’m a vendor too. rallies swap meets etc so I have to straddle the fence. BUT most of your trailer bikers are just RV’ers who happen to own motorcycles IMO. elderly, injured, vendor is an excuse, out side of that???. this subject is easy to step on toes & the blow hards always have an excuse for not riding. You either ride or you are just a tourist in my world.
see you on the road…
If toes weren’t stickin’ out so far they wouldn’t get stepped on.
The fun of this comic/site is the ability to stick my finger in the eye of my target audience and still leave ‘em laughing. Yuppy bikers, rubbies, RV bikers, and bikers in general are all fair game for each other here.
I had some RV thoughts while camping bikeless with my wife and kids this summer, but it all comes back to the absurdity of “camping” in a rig like that even for the family. Not to mention it looks like a huge waste of money to me for the limited use I’d give it.
Anyway, thanks for reading.
