Before I forget, I posted an animation I did a few years ago of a reindeer doing standup comedy at the North Pole’s Redlight Club. Good times.
Frankly, this little Wise Men series isn’t really going the way I thought it would. Like about half the work I do, it’s sort of taking its own direction. I have been working to develop some connection to the Christmas Story–the one in the Bible, not that movie about the kid who wants a BB gun. Jones has been busy sabotaging the whole thing being a waste case. Typical.
Drawing the stars swirling before his eyes made me think about all the things we think are the brightest stars, the things we go after that aren’t what we really need.
I do have a strip planned for Christmas day that gets closer to the heart of the matter, and it is the culmination of this particular story.

Some how I think Jones will “see the light” soon.
Yeah, maybe. But he’ll probably blink and shut it out.
He means well, but has a hard time staying pointed in the right direction. He’s a lot more fun to work with as a career screwup, anyway.
