Leave it to me to post late during hiatus…email subscribers will get this a day late.
2011 was a good year for Keeping Up With Jones. I started last year by going to two strips a week and making a commitment to consistent art direction and long-term story. I learned a thing or two and feel like my art showed some improvement, as did the story. I’m confident in the art and story for 2012, and I expect that I’ll be holding at three strips per week this year.
I am also in the midst of putting together an anthology of the 2011 Jones strips, with a few of the strips from 2010, some sketches, and some written discussion of the strip. The book will be available by May for around $15. Currently I’m in the process of designing the cover, which is a pretty exciting process. The cover art is moving along pretty well, having done the ink the morning of New Year’s Eve, an I’m in the process of applying color in Photoshop.
I am planning to have some down time this summer, so I hope to get ahead of the whole thing a bit more and work on marketing and getting some paid advertising on the site to subsidize still advertising the strip on other sites.
Anyway, I’d like to thank all my readers for a great year in 2011, and hope you’ll stay with me this year and help spread the good news of Cartoon Thunder!

Can’t wait to see where the new year takes Jones. Let’s see how he survives his own ideas.
Man, if it were really that easy…ha, ha, ha…Happy New Year everyone. Let’s hope that 2012 is a better year.
