I always prefer to draw motorcycles, but guns are fun, too.

While drawing this strip I listened to the Dirtbombs, a garage rock band from Detroit. I’m not sure I can accurately describe the music, but I’ll try. A strange blend that sounds like blues, punk, and soul bumped into each other like the two folks destined for each other in the old Reeses Peanut Butter cup commercial: “Your chocolate is in my peanut butter!” “Your peanut butter is on my chocolate!” There’s a rough and raw feel to everything about this music, while at the same time having a big that’s tightly assembled enough to sound loose at the same time.

Apparently the Dirtbombs love bass and rhythm, because they feature dual bass and dual drums in the lineup.

Interestingly enough for Cartoon Thunder readers, the album I”m listening to is called Ultra Glide in Black.

Don’t forget to help spread the good news of Cartoon Thunder! Tell a friend, email a strip.  Better still, buy a mug or a  Christmas Card or ten and give them to your favorite biker.  As always, thanks for reading Keeping Up With Jones.
